Product Description

Eat what you want, when you want--and watch the pounds disappear!  Americans spend more than $400 billion a year eating out, and behind each burger, turkey sandwich, and ice cream sundae is a simple decision that could help you control your weight—and your life. The problem is, restaurant chains and food producers aren't interested in helping you make healthy choices. In fact, they invest $30 billion a year on advertising, much of it aimed at confusing eaters and disguising the fat and calorie counts of their products. All of that has changed with EAT THIS, NOT THAT!. This book puts the entire food industry under the spotlight, and arms you with the savvy tricks and insider information it takes to eat well no matter where you are. With EAT THIS, NOT THAT! you're the expert in every eating situation, from the frozen food aisle to your favorite fast food joint to your local sports bar. You control your food universe—and lose the pounds you want--because, unlike every other customer, you'll know the smart choices to make—instantly!  EAT THIS, NOT THAT! is jam-packed with secrets the restaurant industry doesn't want you to know. For example: • Burger King doesn't want you to know that a BK Big Fish® Sandwich and fries have a whopping 1000 calories—nearly half your daily caloric intake! (Fish is usually healthy, but not this kind. Find out why with this book.) • Pizza Hut doesn't want you to know that a standard pizza in Italy contains 500 to 800 calories, but the same meal at Pizza Hut can top 2,100 calories! (You'd need to ride a stationary bike for more than three hours to burn off this mistake. Instead, eat all the pizza you want by making smart choices. EAT THIS, NOT THAT! shows you how.) • Macaroni Grill doesn't want you to know that a single serving of their Grilled Teriyaki Salmon has more than three times your daily allowance of sodium! (Cut your risk of high blood pressure by making smart choices at the same restaurant. You'll find them inside.)  If only you knew the industry secrets, you could eat at any of your favorite restaurants—or chow down on everything from the company vending machine to your kids’ Halloween buckets—and know that every decision you made was smart, healthy, and the best possible choice for you. For example, did you know: • At McDonald’s, an Egg McMuffin® is actually a healthy choice, with just 300 calories. (The Hotcakes pack more than double that amount!) • At Krispy Kreme, all you need to do is order the Very Berry Chiller instead of the Mocha Dream Chiller, and you'll save 500 calories! (Do that once a week and you'll drop more than 7 pounds this year—without trying!) • At Chipotle, you can cut 570 calories out of your Chicken Burrito just by ordering it as a bowl (without the tortilla) and asking them to hold the rice. (Same great taste, but with 94 fewer carb grams!) • Choosing a cinnamon roll at Au Bon Pain over Cinnabon will save you 463 calories and 20 grams of fat! • In the freezer section of your local supermarket, a turkey pot pie from Swanson’s has 610 fewer calories than a turkey pot pie from Pepperidge Farms. • In the produce aisle, you'll get twice the vitamin C—and nine times as much vitamin A—simply by picking red bell peppers over green ones. (Who said eating healthy was difficult?)  And that’s why EAT THIS, NOT THAT! is going to change everything. It’s time to level the playing field. We're all tired of sneaky calories adding to our waistlines, and having to starve ourselves or spend hours on the treadmill trying to burn off the damage. Now—for the first time—you're in charge. With this simple illustrated guide to thousands of foods--along with the nutrition secrets that lead to fast and permanent weight loss--you'll make the smartest choice every time!

Eat This Not That
Eat This, Not That! Thousands of Simple Food Swaps that Can Save You 10, 20, 30 Pounds--or More!

This is a great, entertaining book. Although I do not think that following its advice will help you lose weight, it will make you stop and think before your order at your favorite chain restaurant. My entire family enjoyed thumbing through it.

Eat This Not That
A lot of good information it stays in the kitchen for the entire family to use. Not only was I glad the way everyone started to use it I found that when we had guests over they would pick it up and begin to glance through it.The picture quality is great and the way the book is divided into sections make it easy to use.

Just Buy the Calorie King Book!
Yes this book does tell you witch item to pick... but what if i'm at applebees and the book says to eat the spicy tilapia but I can't eat spicy food? The last review is correct, the counts they have for some items neglect ingredients that come with or fail to mention if they've actually even included the sides in the calorie count. Or they'll claim an item is better than another bc it has more protein but not say how much.

The calorie king book is much smaller... around 4 x 6 so it's almost half the size of "eat this, not that" and lists almost all items on the menu for a restaurant. You can actually stick this in your jeans pocket. It's also cheaper. 2008 CalorieKing Calorie, Fat & Carbohydrate Counter (Calorie King)

Eye Opening
I wanted to offer some help to my young son, who rarely cooks for himself.
This book exceeded my hopes. He was immediately drawn to the cover and picked it up at my house and carried it off without my having to go through one of those "oh, Mom"...moments. He read excerpts to me all through lunch, and I have to say I was shocked at some of the information we found there. I hope it will help him in his eating habits. I know it will help me. I'd say this is an essential book for any parent whose kids are eating fast food...if you can't get them to stop, you can at least teach them to be more choosy.

Eat this not that
This book had a lot of good information. Things I never thought of. I was diagnosed with the onset of type Diabetes 2 back in April. This book really allowed me to see what I shouldn't be eating. It has helped me in changing my eating habits. I recommend this book to anyone has health problems, or just want to stay healthy.

Four European Cities and an Asian One

When it comes to what sort of rest you would like to have, either passive, or an active one, traveling seems to be the variant that can apply to both of these two types of relaxation. Considering the way you would like to spend your vacations, you may come across dozens of offers that can suit you in any case. Hundreds of the best resorts in the world are waiting for your arrival providing you with all sorts of services, entertainment and sumptuousness. The “problem” you are to face is making the choice itself. Since the variety of countries you have a chance to visit is really diverse you should make a decision what kind of holidays you would like to have. Lying on the beach day after day doesn’t satisfy everyone. There are individuals that are sick and tired of this kind of rest. They would prefer climbing the mountains and sleeping in dirty tents to luxurious hotels with rooms looking the sea. In any agency you are going or have already addressed to you are provided with the whole range of those countries that are extremely popular this summer or winter among the tourists and having a large sum of money in your pocket you are looking through this list in a fever not knowing what to choose. Still Europe remains one of the most wishful places to go to among travel-lovers. Rome is one of those places that are destined to welcome the most romantic people of the world. With its historic places, architecture and national cuisine your impressions won’t let you sleep for a long time. So many places to visit just in one city! The Vatican Museums, the Christian Catacombs, and surely the Coliseum… This is not the whole list of the sights that you have to see. Having a long walk around the city you should no doubt drop in at one of the real Italian restaurants. With its authentic recipes, exquisite dishes and fine wines the impressions left after visiting Rome are unforgettable. Not going too far away from Italy we should stay in Venice for some time. The city is famous not only for its aquatic streets and an unusual way of life of Venetians, but also for its grand carnivals. The carnevale di Venezia is one of them. It starts eight days before Lent in winter, so if you are going to Italy in this season, don’t miss the show. Berlin may still have an image of a war city, but you will be agreeably surprised to see that it is remarkable for its greenest parks and pleasant looks in general. Moreover, the most recent innovations of human behavior are typical in Berlin and are notable for progressive attitude of the public. The nightlife is diverse and here you can observe individuals belonging to various sexual minorities that feel quite at home in the streets of the nigh city. But the main advantage is surely architecture and the places to visit. Unter den Linden is the best place to start an excursion, continuing with Reichstag and Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe. Needless to say that Paris is the city of everyone in love. Numerous historic sites cast a spell over the visitors by their charm and beauty. Notre Dame and Eiffel Tower are probably the most popular places to visit. Still Louvre does not lack the attention of the travelers that offers you a great range of the most famous paintings in the world including Giaconda. But some people find these places too standard and investigated practically by everyone. They are looking for something different, for something unusual. Japan seems to be the country that remains unknown for most of the Europeans. Hong Kong is swarming with people rushing back and forth. But those who inhabit the city entertain in a gorgeous way. The Bun and Buddha festival is a colorful occasion that you must visit while in Hong Kong. The shopping festival is another superb event that is able to cheer you up in any circumstance. No matter what country you will choose, the most important is that you are alive and ready to move. The best way to relax is to see something new, to try something extraordinary and to remain happy with the adventure. Anyway traveling is a great way to raise the spirits.
